Canceling a Subscription (and What Happens)
If you decide to stop using your expert subscription plan on Hire Local, you can cancel it at any time. Here’s how the cancellation works and what changes once your plan ends.
How to Cancel Your Subscription
- Log into your Expert Dashboard
- Navigate to Account Settings → Subscription Plan
- Click “Cancel Subscription”
- Confirm the cancellation when prompted
When the Cancellation Takes Effect
- Your plan will stay active until the end of the billing period
- You can still apply for jobs and message customers during that time
- Once the billing cycle ends, your expert profile will be deactivated automatically
What Happens After Cancellation
Once your subscription expires:
- You will no longer appear in search results
- You won’t be able to apply for new jobs
- Existing in-progress jobs can still be completed
- Your profile and reviews are saved for future use (if you re-subscribe)
Will You Be Charged Again?
No. Once you cancel:
- Auto-renewal stops
- You won’t be charged for the next billing cycle
- You can reactivate your subscription any time by selecting a new plan
Important Notes
- Cancel before your renewal date to avoid being charged again
- Subscription fees are non-refundable
