At Hire Local, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for everyone. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards all users — Customers, Experts, and guests — must follow when using our platform.

1. Be Respectful
- Treat others with courtesy and professionalism
- No abusive language, harassment, threats, or hate speech
- Communicate clearly and avoid misinterpretation
We have zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination, or personal attacks.

- All communication must stay within the platform (WP Guppy)
- You must not share your phone number, email, or other contact info
- Taking jobs or payments outside the platform is strictly prohibited
Doing so risks account suspension or permanent removal.
3. Be Honest
- Experts must only offer services they are qualified to deliver
- Customers must provide clear, truthful job descriptions
- Do not impersonate others, use fake accounts, or misrepresent your skills
4. Deliver What You Promise
- Experts must deliver work that matches what was agreed
- Customers must pay for work completed as agreed
- If you need to cancel or change terms, communicate early and clearly
5. No Spam or Unwanted Promotion
- Do not send spam messages or mass job requests
- Do not use the platform to promote outside businesses or websites
- Any promotional content must be approved by Hire Local in writing
6. Respect Reviews and Ratings
- Don’t demand positive reviews
- Don’t leave fake reviews or retaliate unfairly
- Only rate based on your actual experience with the job
Reviews help others make informed decisions — keep them honest.
7. Report Issues Responsibly
If you see a rule being broken:
- Report it to us via support@hirelocal.co.nz
- Do not retaliate, argue publicly, or escalate tension
- We handle all reports confidentially and fairly
8. Consequences of Misconduct
Breaking these rules may result in:
- Warnings or temporary suspension
- Permanent removal of your account
- Loss of access to any active jobs or funds (if fraud is involved)
We reserve the right to act at our discretion in protecting the platform and its users.
9. Updates
This Code of Conduct may be updated over time. Continued use of the platform means you accept any changes.
