How to Cancel a Job
Sometimes things don’t go to plan. Whether it’s a change in your needs, scheduling issues, or problems with an expert, Hire Local gives customers the ability to cancel a job at different stages — with clear rules to protect both sides.
When You Can Cancel a Job
You can cancel a job in two situations:
1. Before Hiring (Job is Open)
You can cancel the job at any time if you haven’t hired anyone yet.
2. After Hiring (Job is In Progress)
You can still cancel, but this should only be done if:
- The expert is unresponsive
- The expert hasn’t started or is not delivering
- You no longer need the service (with fair notice)
Note: If you cancel after hiring, no automatic refund is given unless you’ve made a manual arrangement or the expert agrees. Disputes may require support review.
