How to Create a Job Post

Posting a job on Hire Local is the first step to hiring an expert. The more detail you include, the more likely you are to get fast and accurate offers from qualified people.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Log In to Your Customer Account

Make sure you’re signed into a Customer account (not an Expert one).
If you haven’t created one yet, follow the sign-up steps in the “Getting Started” section.

Step 2: Click “Post a Job”

From your dashboard or the site menu, click the “Post a Job” button to open the job creation form.

Step 3: Fill Out the Job Form

You’ll be asked to enter several details. Be as specific as possible to attract the right experts.

Here’s what each field means:

- Job Title:
  A clear name for your task (e.g. “Fix my leaking kitchen tap” or “Logo design for small business”).
- Category:
  Choose the service type that best fits your job (e.g. Plumbing, Graphic Design, Tutoring).
- Location:
  Your city or suburb if it’s an in-person job — or choose “Remote” for online work.
- Budget:
  You can enter a fixed price or an hourly rate. Don’t worry — experts can still send custom offers if needed.
- Job Description:
  Give detailed info about what you need, including specific requirements, goals, and deadlines.
- Attachments (optional):
  You can upload photos, documents, or reference files to help experts understand the job better.

Step 4: Submit Your Job

Once everything is filled in, click “Post Job” or “Submit”.
Your job will be live instantly and move into Open status.

Experts can now:

- Apply by sending offers
- Ask questions through the messaging system
- Be invited directly if you browse and invite them manually
