Managing Your Job
Once you’ve hired an expert, it’s important to manage the job properly so things run smoothly. Hire Local makes this easy with built-in tools to track progress, communicate, upload files, and confirm completion — all from your dashboard.
Job Status: “In Progress”
As soon as you hire an expert, the job automatically moves to In Progress.
From this point on, everything related to that job (messages, updates, payments, files) happens inside the job thread.
What You Can Do While a Job is In Progress
Here’s how you can manage the job through your dashboard:
1. Chat with the expert
Use the built-in messaging system to:
- Ask questions
- Clarify tasks
- Share instructions or documents
- Discuss progress
2. Review updates or deliverables
Experts can send updates or upload completed work during the job. Make sure to:
- Acknowledge updates
- Give clear feedback
- Ask for revisions (if needed)
3. Keep track of deadlines
If there’s a timeline for the job, monitor progress and gently follow up if delays happen.
Tip: Jobs don’t have automatic deadlines, so use communication to stay aligned.
Completing the Job
When the expert finishes the work:
- They will click “Mark as Completed” on their side.
- You’ll get a notification asking you to Confirm Completion.
- Review the work and, if satisfied, click “Confirm Completion.”
Once confirmed:
- The job status changes to Completed
- The expert is paid (if not already handled manually)
- You’ll be prompted to leave a review
If Something Goes Wrong
If you run into issues:
- Use the message thread to communicate clearly and professionally
- If there’s no resolution, you can report the issue using the “Report” or “Need Help” button inside the job view
