Recovering Your Account

If you’re locked out of your Hire Local account — whether due to a forgotten password, lost access to your email, or suspicious activity — don’t panic. This guide walks you through how to recover your account securely.

Forgot Your Password?

  1. Go to the Hire Local Login Page
  2. Click “Forgot Password?”
  3. Enter the email address linked to your account
  4. You’ll receive a password reset email
  5. Click the link and set a new password

Make sure to check your spam/junk folder if the email doesn’t show up within a few minutes.

Lost Access to Your Email?

If you can’t access the email linked to your account anymore:

  1. Contact Hire Local support at: support@hirelocal.co.nz
  2. Include:
    • Your full name
    • The original email on the account
    • Any details to confirm your identity (e.g. recent job title, last login, phone number)

Once verified, support may help update your email or manually recover your account.

Suspicious Login or Account Activity?

If you think your account was accessed without your permission:

  • Change your password immediately
  • If you’re locked out, contact support as above
  • We’ll investigate any unusual logins or changes and secure your account

How to Prevent Future Issues

  • Use a strong password (and don’t reuse old ones)
  • Don’t share login details with anyone
  • Use different emails for customer and expert accounts
  • Enable email alerts for login activity (if supported)
