Sometimes, things don’t go as expected. If you experience serious issues with an expert, Hire Local provides a clear process for reporting problems to protect customers and maintain a safe community.
When to Report a Problem
You should report an expert if:
- They don’t respond or communicate
- They don’t show up for the job without notice
- They deliver poor-quality or incomplete work
- They violate platform rules (abuse, harassment, fraud)
- They ask for payment outside Hire Local or act suspiciously
How to Report an Expert
- Go to your dashboard → My Jobs
- Select the job related to the issue
- Click the “Report a Problem” or “Need Help” button
- Fill out the report form with clear details:
- What happened
- When and where
- Any supporting evidence (messages, photos)
5. Submit the report
What Happens After You Report
- Hire Local support reviews the report promptly
- We may contact both parties for clarification
- Temporary suspension of the expert’s account may occur during investigation
- Depending on findings, actions may include warnings, account suspension, or removal
