Reporting Bugs or System Issues
If something on Hire Local isn’t working properly — a button won’t click, pages aren’t loading, or you see an error message — you might be experiencing a bug or system issue. Here’s how to report it and what happens next.
What Counts as a System Bug?
Common examples include:
- The website won’t load or crashes
- Dashboard features are missing or not responding
- You get a system error message
- Payment buttons or forms don’t work
- Job posts won’t save or submit properly
- Notifications or messages not updating
How to Report a Bug
- Go to your Dashboard
- Click the Help or Support tab
- Choose “Report a Bug” (or use the contact form)
- Include:
- A clear description of the problem
- What you were doing when it happened
- Your browser and device (e.g. Chrome on mobile)
- Screenshots if possible
Alternatively, email: support@hirelocal.co.nz with the same details.
What Happens Next
Once you report the issue:
- The support team logs the bug
- Our technical team investigates and confirms the problem
- If needed, we’ll issue a fix or patch in the next update
- You’ll be notified once the issue is resolved or if more info is needed
Most bugs are reviewed within 1–2 business days
Tips to Avoid Common Glitches
- Keep your browser updated (Chrome, Firefox, Safari recommended)
- Try clearing your cache or refreshing the page
- If using mobile, make sure you’re on a supported browser (not in-app browser)
