How the Commission Works
Hire Local charges a 5% platform fee — but it’s added on top of your price, not deducted from it.
This means:
- You quote your full price (e.g. $100)
- The customer pays your price + 5% (e.g. $105)
- You receive 100% of your quoted amount (e.g. full $100)
Why We Charge This Fee
The 5% fee helps cover:
- Platform maintenance and security
- Customer support services
- Manual job review and dispute resolution
- Marketing to bring more customers to the site
This approach avoids hidden costs and lets you keep control over your earnings.

Important Notes
- You should never factor the 5% into your price — just quote what you want to earn
