Who Can Use the Platform?
Hire Local supports two distinct user types:
- Customers – people who need work done
- Experts – freelancers or service providers who complete jobs
Each role has its own account system. You cannot switch between roles in one account, and you must use a different email address if you want to register for both roles. This helps avoid confusion and keeps job activity, messages, and payments clearly separated.
Customers (People Hiring)
Customers are anyone who wants to hire someone for a task — homeowners, small businesses, or individuals.
You don’t need to be tech-savvy or experienced. Just post a job, choose the right expert, and get the work done.
Common uses for customers:
- Hire someone to clean, repair, or renovate
- Find a writer or designer for business needs
- Get tutoring, admin help, or odd jobs done
What you can do as a customer:
- Sign up for free
- Post jobs with clear descriptions and budgets
- Receive and compare expert applications
- Message experts before hiring
- Pay securely through the platform
- Leave reviews when the job is done
Experts (Freelancers & Service Providers)
Experts offer paid services through the platform. To get started, create a dedicated expert account, complete your profile, and choose a subscription plan.
Examples of expert types:
- Tradespeople (electricians, painters, landscapers)
- Creative freelancers (writers, designers, videographers)
- Technical or business professionals (IT, marketing, tutoring)
What you can do as an expert:
- Build a profile that showcases your skills and experience
- Subscribe to a plan (monthly or yearly) to apply for jobs
- Browse available jobs and respond to customer invites
- Communicate with clients through the platform
- Mark jobs as completed and get paid securely
- Earn ratings and reviews to boost credibility
Important: You Must Use a Different Email for Each Role
If you want to use the platform as both a customer and an expert, you must create two separate accounts using two different email addresses.
- One email = one role
- This keeps job posts, applications, payments, and reviews from getting mixed up
- You must log in to each account separately depending on what you want to do
